april and may

So I have been out of the blogging loop for some time now and the quesion is always the same...do I take the time to catch everyone up on "things" OR do I just move on??? I would (in a way) love to just move on, but then I think of all the milestones that have happened in our lives since little Elizabeth (or Lizzy Sue or Lizard Beth) was born back in April (my last post) and want all of you to be able to share those moments with us.

Like Caroline's very FIRST Andalusia Ballet Easter Egg Hunt and Bonnet Contest...And our usual Easter festivities were postponed a week since we were all in Marietta seeing the Orton's addition on April 4th...we celebrated a risen Saviour AND a new niece (born April 3) this year:)Caroline also held a baby chick for her first time this year at the Covington County Young Farmer's petting zoo... Then came May, when we welcomed ANOTHER beautiful niece into our family...Hannah Catherine Fleming.

BUT...she gave us a little scare and had to be transferred to the NICU at Baptist South in Montgomery.

And got to come home the day before Mother's Day to meet her newest cousin for the first time...

and I got to celebrate my fourth Mother's Day with all of them, plus the one that makes it such a special day for me... Caroline also completed her first year of dance in May and was awarded a certificate of completion from Mrs. Callie... Then came the end of May, Memorial Day, and the move into our new house:)

elizabeth sue makes her blog debut

Here she is...Miss Elizabeth Sue Orton. Born on Saturday, April 3 at 11:56pm. She weighed 8lbs and 15.6 oz and measured 19.5 inches long (but was remeasured at her first checkup on Thursday as being 21 inches long). She is so beautiful and has some seriously sweet sugar. Josh, Kristen, and Elizabeth made it home on Tuesday afternoon and all seem to be adjusting well.

snow day 2010

I am finally getting around to posting our snow day pictures! We had a great day together as a family and totally enjoyed playing in the snow, building THREE snowmen and looking at all the pretty sights. You will actually see several pictures of our house, Aunt Peggy's house, and our new house taken through out the day just so you can see how the snow was accumulating. I took close to 200 pictures...don't worry though, I didn't upload all of them:) BUT there is a slideshow since I could only narrow it down to FIFTY-FIVE!!!

reasons to celebrate - a new life and 60 years of it

I am guessing that most of you know that baby sister Kristen and her husband Josh are expecting their first baby in April...SO EXCITING!!! She was home a few weeks back for a couple of baby showers.

The first one was given by a group of her high school friends on Saturday and was actually for her and and another expecting friend, Kriston Godwin Bush.
While we celebrated a NEW life that day, that night we celebrated 60 YEARS of it!!
Daddy's birthday actually was not until February 15, but we decided to go ahead and celebrate since we didn't know when/if Kristen Sue would be back home before the baby got here. We all went out to eat and then back to Heather and Brian's for cake and ice cream. This is a pic of Granddaddy with all his grand kids (minus sweet RG and the two still keeping warm in their mama's tummies).
Then on Sunday, Kristen had another shower given at my aunt's house where she got lots more for little Baby O:)

Can't believe my baby sister is about to be a mama and that I may not see her again until she is, BUT so excited about my new niece or nephew!! We had fun weekend with her and can't wait to go meet Baby Orton in a few weeks in Atlanta:)

Also can't believe MY daddy is 60...but it seems like the new 40!!! I don't at all think of him as being old (like I used to think 60 was), I just feel blessed for him to be ours and that we got to celebrate such a special birthday with him:)
